Fountain Square | Intersection of Fifth and Vine Streets | Cincinnati, OH 45202 (See Map)
Monday 8:00pm - 1:00am
Detail:
Fountain Square will be rockin' on New Year's Eve with ice skating, music and a countdown to 2008 on the giant LED board that will end in a splash of Rozzi fireworks over the Fountain.
Duke Energy is the presenting sponsor for the Fountain Square New Year's Eve Blast. Festivities begin at 8 p.m. with free ice skating that continues until 1 a.m. on the ice rink. Cincinnati's "Team Lachey," which won NBC's national "Clash of the Choirs" competition two weeks ago, will perform two songs at 8:15 p.m., with an introduction by Mayor Mark Mallory. At 9 p.m. DJ Pillo takes the stage with two turntables, mixers, and an endless supply of vinyl. His eclectic mix of music will get people dancing until it's time for the video countdown to midnight on the LED board. And at the stroke of midnight, the fireworks will explode over Fountain Square to officially welcome the New Year.
Special thanks to our sponsors. In addition to Duke Energy, free skate admission is courtesy of Strauss & Troy, A Legal Professional Association, and U.S. Bank, which has sponsored a music and twinkling light show during the holidays every half hour from dusk to 9 p.m.
Adult beverages will be sold, and $3 parking is available in the Fountain Square Garage.
Please note: It is illegal to bring alcohol into the event site. No outside alcohol is allowed. Thanks for your cooperation.
The Fountain Square New Year's Eve Blast is produced by Fountain Square Management Group, a subsidiary of 3CDC.
